Spirit of Singapore

Another Rodman has undertaken an epic journey to a new home in far away lands. This time a Spirit 42 travelled over 7000 miles to the Island of Sentosa, Singapore, the most Southern point of continental Asia. RBS Marine were there to build up and hand over the boat to her proud new owner.

The Spirit 42, this boat with a stunning blue hull, underwent her final checks at the factory in Vigo, Spain (pictured left), before being loaded to transport and travelling by road to Barcelona, where she was then loaded onto a container ship (pictured right) destined for Singapore.

On arrival in Singapore it was then time to build up the boat in heat we certainly weren't accustomed to, fitting the railings, screens, bimini and radar arch. The saloon air con was tested and provided a cool relief from the 32 degree heat. Perhaps sensing we were struggling a little, Singapore provided us with a refreshing, if not a little scary thunderstorm!

Then we were ready to show her new owner the ropes and she certainly impressed with her fantastic manoeuvrability thanks to the IPS joystick controls. Our work done, we couldn't resist taking in the sights, sounds and tastes of Singapore and we certainly hope this is somewhere we have an excuse to come back to.
