Each competitor was asked to undertake a shoreline clean up as a condition of entry, and the rules for the competition helped ensure that best practises for catch and release were followed so that fish were returned safely to the water after being photographed and measured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Beach-Clean-3-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-117\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Beach-Clean-3-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Beach-Clean-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Beach-Clean-3-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Beach-Clean-3-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Beach-Clean-3.jpg 1857w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The event organiser, Ross Honey, owns a Rodman 900 \u2018Captain Nemo\u2019, and with many keen anglers being Rodman Owners, it made perfect sense that RBS Marine and Rodman should be involved in the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"687\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/4.-R900-Medium-1024x687.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-118\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/4.-R900-Medium-1024x687.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/4.-R900-Medium-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/4.-R900-Medium-768x515.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/4.-R900-Medium.jpg 1145w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a>We were delighted when Steve Porter, owner of Rodman 1250 \u2018True Blue\u2019 kindly volunteered to be a media boat for the competition. Steve operates True Blue as a charter fishing boat from Poole, but he took a few days out to carry on board for the duration of the competition Andy Ford TV, filming for BT Sport and also was also asked for his own commentary on the competition as it happened.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" data-id=\"119\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/11.-True-Blue-Medium-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-119\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/11.-True-Blue-Medium-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/11.-True-Blue-Medium-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/11.-True-Blue-Medium-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.rbsmarine.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/11.-True-Blue-Medium.jpg 1152w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Then there were another 6 Rodman boats competing in the competition, in the recreational boat category; Rodman 1250 \u2018Snowflake\u2019, Rodman 1250\u2019 Sophia Marie\u2019, Rodman 1170 \u2018Destiny\u2019, Rodman 810 \u2018Island Son\u2019 and Rodman 1100 \u2018Wahoo\u2019, and in the charter boat category Rodman 1040 \u2018Dotty\u2019. RBS Marine were also present at the Opening Ceremony, Boat Parade and Prize Giving. Huge efforts had been made by the organisers to involve the City of Portsmouth, and local school children and organisations were present waving flags at the opening ceremony and parade through Portsmouth, through to the prestigious prize giving in front of the Victory at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a great event for Rodman Owner\u2019s to get involved with, and the boats are so perfectly suited for the competitive angler.
