1934 Elkins Auxiliary Gaff Cutter

Elkins Auxiliary Gaff Cutter - Description

A beautiful and unique 24' Gaff Cutter built by Elkins of Christchurch circa 1934. 'Withy' might be a classic design but she has been brought into the modern day with the installation of an electric engine - a 48v, 4kw Krautler Saildrive motor. The perfect way to explore the harbour and local coastline with a minimal carbon footprint. You'll get 5 hours on a full charge, and keep the boat plugged in on the pontoon and the 8 batteries will self regulate their charging. The ideal day boat, but if you do decide to stop overnight the coach roof is hinged to provide more headroom and the cockpit cover provides more sheltered usable space. With a centreboard, 'Withy' is ideal for harbour, broads or coastal cruising. Currently on a mooring but with mast and sails, cushions etc removed for the winter, but still available to view by appointment. Knowledgable owner close by. Contact us for more information.
